As an automotive technician at Briggs of Fort Scott, you will be responsible for automotive maintenance and repair. When you receive a repair order from the dispatcher, you will take the vehicle to the stall area and perform the work outlined in the order. While you do this, you must follow federal, state, and local regulations governing service repair work, as well as maintaining dealership and factory standards. If the service requires any new parts, you will be expected to communicate with the parts department to get the new parts. If you perform warranty work, you must tag and save the old parts; the same is expected if the customer requests it.
If you discover that the work you have been asked to perform is unnecessary or that extra work is needed, you will need to talk with the service advisor immediately. Documenting your work is vital, and you must road-test the vehicle when you have finished working on it to make sure that all complaints have been addressed.
In addition to these duties, you will also be expected to attend regular training classes on vehicle maintenance and keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.
