Just a couple of years ago, for the 2022 model year, the popular Toyota Tundra was completely redesigned as it entered its third generation on the market. Like many other vehicles on the brand’s lineup, the Tundra now provides a hybrid powertrain option in addition to its traditional gas option. This year the full-size, light-duty pickup truck looks to continue building its reputation and legacy both on the lineup and in its segment, receiving a few more updates and enhancements and proving why it's a real contender within its class. If you’re in the market for such a truck here in Fort Scott, Kansas, you should definitely consider the 2024 Toyota Tundra.
Only a couple of years removed from its major redesign, we didn’t expect much to change this year, but we were pleasantly surprised. New options include a 3” TRD Lift Kit, TRD Off-Road Package on the Platinum trim level, exclusive TRD exterior color option Terra and the introduction of the model’s Nightshade package. Nightshade is an iconic package for the Toyota brand, so we’re pleased to see it make its way to the new Tundra.
There are two powertrains to choose from when shopping for a 2024 Toyota Tundra. An i-FORCE twin-turbocharged V6 capable of generating 389 horsepower alongside 479 pound-feet of torque is the standard, gas-powered option. As mentioned, you can instead opt for a hybridized Tundra powered by an i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain with a total output of 437 hp alongside 583 lb-ft. of torque. Either option is a great choice, with the latter delivering 22 miles per gallon combined fuel efficiency.
You’ll have plenty of options to choose from when shopping for a 2024 Toyota Tundra, as there are many different trim levels and configurations. You can opt for Double Cab or CrewMax when it comes to the truck’s cab, the former being available with either a 6’5” or 8’1” bed and the latter with either a 5’5” or 6’5”. Trim levels include SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, TRD Pro or Capstone. Don’t forget the available TRD Off-Road or TRD Sport packages, available on certain trim levels and configurations.
