One of the most popular midsize pickup trucks on the market, the Toyota Tacoma never slowed its role. Even while many brands were doing away with their smaller trucks, Toyota held firm and continued to produce its iconic Tacoma to great success – much like the company did with its minivan, the Sienna. The truck has officially been around for more than 25 years, and next year will be its 30th anniversary considering it debuted for the 1995 model year. But this model year is the one to really get excited about, as Toyota is redesigning the 2024 Toyota Tacoma as it enters its fourth generation before arriving here in Fort Scott, Kansas.
For the 2024 model year, the truck has been completely redesigned from bumper to bumper. The next-gen version of the pickup truck is now built on the TNGA-F, which it shares with both the Tundra and Sequoia. There are far too many changes and updates to go over in one blurb, so we’ll touch on some of the most important enhancements – its powertrain options and trim levels – in the sections to the right.
The 2024 Tacoma will be available in one of two different powertrain options, though both are built on a 2.4L turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The base model will be capable of generating 228 horsepower alongside 243 pound-feet of torque, but higher trim levels will be leveled up thanks to an eight-speed ECT-i transmission. It will be able to generate an improved 278 hp and 317 lb-ft. of torque.
The next-generation Tacoma will, once again, be available in a number of configurations from which shoppers will be able to choose. This includes two cab styles (four-door Double Cab or two-door XtraCab) and two bed lengths (5’ or 6’). In addition, you’ll be able to choose from a total of eight different trim levels: SR, SR5, TRD PreRunner, TRD Sport, TRD Off Road, Limited, TRD Pro and new Trailhunter.
We cannot wait for the all-new, next-generation 2024 Toyota Tacoma to arrive right here at Briggs Fort Scott. If you’re as excited as we are, be sure to get in touch with us right away here at the sales desk to inquire about availability. Alternatively, make sure to check out our online inventory, the truck might already be available by the time you’re reading this. Either way, we look forward to hearing from you and seeing you behind the wheel of your new Tacoma!
