The Toyota lineup is rich with legacy. So many of its vehicles have iconic histories, from the decades-old Corolla and Camry models, to the legendary performance roots of the GR Supra. But few nameplates elicit the same kind of reaction from true Toyota enthusiasts as Land Cruiser. Dating all the way back to 1951, the Toyota Land Cruiser is a full-size traditional SUV and the brand’s quintessential off-road vehicle. The icon disappeared from the lineup after the 2021 model year, and we were worried that there might no longer be a place for it in today’s market. But psych! Toyota just unveiled an all-new version of the vehicle earlier this month, the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser, and we cannot wait to see it here in Fort Scott, Kansas.
Perhaps the biggest (and maybe most exciting) change for the new 2024 Land Cruiser is that it will be powered by a hybrid powertrain. Beneath the hood of the new Land Cruiser is an i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain that combines a turbocharged 2.4L four-cylinder engine with an electric motor, a 1.87-kWh NiMH battery pack and an eight-speed automatic transmission. That all combines for a thrilling 326 horsepower alongside 465 pound-feet of torque.
As an off-road icon, you knew the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser was going to be packed full of great off-road features. That all starts with its 31-degree approach angle, 22-degree departure angle and ground clearance of 8.7 inches. Adding to these great specs are a host of great features including a front stabilizer bar, rock rails, full-coverage high-strength steel skid plates, front tow/recovery hooks, fog lamps, Multi-Terrain Select, CRAWL Control and so much more.
Like many 2024 Toyota vehicles, the Land Cruiser will come standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, the latest iteration of the brand’s incredible safety suite. The newest version of the advanced driver-assistive safety tech package includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, Automatic High Beams and Proactive Driving Assist.
If you think you’ll be interested in one of these incredible machines when they become available, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us right here at Briggs Fort Scott. The First Edition trim level is limited to just 5,000 units for North America, so it might be difficult to lock down. Be sure to reach out right away if you’re interested!
