What’s new for 2024?

For the 2024 model year, a few things have been adjusted or enhanced, starting with the AT4X trim level now coming standard with the 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine option. An active exhaust system is now available on the SLT, AT4, AT4X, Denali and Denali Ultimate trim levels, while two additional premium aluminum wheel styles have been added. Downpour Metallic and Thunderstorm Gray are two new exterior color options. Finally, the 2.7L Turbo High-Output Engine is now called TurboMax.

Specs & Features

Speaking of which, the TurboMax four-cylinder engine is just one of four total options from which to choose. It offers 310 horsepower alongside 430 pound-feet of torque, a max payload of 2,240 pounds and a max towing capacity of 9,500 pounds. Other options include a 5.3L V8 (355 hp, 383 lb-ft., 2,240 lbs., 11,200 lbs.), a 6.2L V8 (420 hp, 460 lb-ft., 1,820 lbs., 13,00 lbs.) and the Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel six-cylinder (305 hp, 495 lb-ft., 1,890 lbs., 13,200 lbs.).

GMC Pro Safety

The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 comes standard with the GMC Pro Safety suite of advanced driver assistive safety technologies. This package includes Forward Collision Alert, Following Distance Indicator, Front Pedestrian Braking, IntelliBeam, Automatic Emergency Braking and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning. These can be augmented on certain trim levels with the incredible Super Cruise system for truly hands-free driving.
