What’s new for 2024?
Several updates were brought to the Maverick for the 2024 model year, starting with the standardization of the 2.0L EcoBoost engine and eight-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, the 2.5L hybrid powertrain is now available on every trim level. Two new exterior color options were added in the form of Terrain and Azure Gray Metallic Tri-Coat. Several other adjustments were brought on a trim-by-trim basis, but we won’t go into every single detail.
Trim Levels & Packages
Speaking of trim levels, there are three available to choose from starting with XL, then XLT and finally Lariat. Each trim level adds additional features and content increasing the value of the vehicle, but there are also several great packages that you can opt to add as well. For example, the TREMOR Off-Road Package, which is available on XLT and Lariat, or the FX4 Off-Road Package, available on the same trims.
Power & Capabilities
There are two different powertrains from which to choose, the standard 2.0L EcoBoost gas-powered engine capable of generating 250 horsepower alongside 277 pound-feet of torque, or the 2.5L hybrid powertrain attached to a continuously variable transmission system and capable of generating 191 hp. Either engine is capable of towing 2,000 pounds or up to 4,000 with the 4K Tow Package. Payload for both is right around 1,500 lbs.
