One of the most iconic and recognizable pickup trucks outside of “the big three,” the Toyota Tundra is best known for pulling the space shuttle Endeavour. Yes, you read that correctly. Back in 2012, an unmodified Toyota Tundra CrewMax was utilized to tow the shuttle across the Manchester Boulevard Bridge. Today, the 2023 Toyota Tundra continues to turn heads as an incredible option in the full-size, light-duty pickup truck space. In fact, it’s even available with a hybrid powertrain. If you’re in the market for a pickup here in Fort Scott, Kansas, be sure to consider this excellent option.
Last year, the Toyota Tundra entered its third generation as an all-new pickup truck was introduced. That means this year not that much needed to change, yet even still we have new things to talk about. While it might not be as exciting as the design enhancements or new powertrains from last year, the new SX Package should still excite some shoppers with its updated appearance for the SR5 trim level.
Those new powertrains introduced last year include an i-FORCE 3.5L twin-turbo V6 capable of generating up to 389 horsepower alongside 479 pound-feet of torque. The second option is even more powerful despite being the powertrain that underpins the Tundra Hybrid. It’s an i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain capable of generating up to 437 hp and 583 lb-ft. of torque while achieving 22 miles per gallon combined.
One of the best things about pickup trucks is just how many options there are from which to choose. There are seven trim levels available in the Toyota Tundra as well as a host of configurations. The available trims include SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, TRD Pro and Capstone. Configurable options include Double Cab or CrewMax, bed lengths of 5.5’, 6.5’ or 8.1’ and either 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain.
