One of the most iconic vehicles – not just pickup trucks, but vehicles period – ever built, the Ford F-150 has been around since all the way back in 1948. Few vehicles boast a legacy dating that far back, let alone one as strong as that of the F-Series pickup. Now firmly in its fourteenth generation, we’re stoked to be able to provide the 2023 Ford F-150 right here in Fort Scott, Kansas. This year there are four different major F-150 variants from which to choose, not counting various trim levels and packages. You have the traditional F-150, the off-road-focused Raptor, the hybrid PowerBoost and the all-electric Lightning.
In honor of the vehicle’s 75th anniversary, Ford introduced the F-150 Heritage Edition. This special edition model is only available on the XLT trim level and features one of five different specialized, two-tone exterior paint jobs as well as a set of exclusive seat coverings. Other updates include the dropping of SuperCab configurations from the Lariat trim level and the introduction of the high-performance Raptor R.
While it’s not new for 2023, it is new for the fourteenth-generation F-150. Ford introduced its first hybrid powertrain for its legendary pickup truck, known as PowerBoost. The variant – which is only available on SuperCrew models – combines a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine with an electric motor and a 1.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, resulting in a total of 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque.
The F-150 Lightning joined the lineup just last year, making 2023 its sophomore year. The brand’s first electric truck, F-150 Lightning has already seen great success, including being named the 2023 North American Truck of the Year. The vehicle can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 4.1 seconds, tow up to 7,700 pounds, charge from 15-100% battery in 10 hours with Ford Charge Station Pro, and travel for up to 240 miles.
