Not only is the RAM 1500 one of the most iconic, best-selling pickup trucks on the market, it often ends up being one of the best-selling vehicles year after year, ranking higher than a lot of vehicles in all different body styles. The 2022 RAM 1500 was updated for the new model year, shuffling around some of its trim levels and packages but also introducing a few upgrades and enhancements that we’re pretty excited to see.
For example, the RAM Clean Air System has been standardized across the whole lineup of trim levels and configurations. This system is capable of filtering out 95% of particulates in the air of your cabin, making it one of the cleanest RAM pickup trucks ever built as far as cabin air is concerned.
Perhaps one of the biggested updates for 2022 is the implementation of the all-new Uconnect 5 System in RAM 1500 Big Horn models and higher trim levels. The new system delivers three times as much memory as its predecessor and operates at speeds up to four times faster, too. The system is capable of delivering Wi-Fi connectivity and even offers a navigation system specific to towing so you know you’re taking the right route even when you’re hauling a big load. Even more exciting than that, it can develop and evolve even after the truck is sold.
There are five different powertrain options from which to choose when shopping for the new 2022 RAM 1500. They include a 3.6L eTorque Pentastar V6 that delivers 305 horsepower alongside 269 pound-feet of torque, a 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 at 260 hp and 480 lb-ft., a 5.7L HEMI V8 and a 5.7L eTorque HEMI V8 each delivering 395 hp and 410 lb-ft., then finally the Supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8 that delivers an astonishing 702 hp alongside 650 lb-ft. of torque. The new RAM offers a max payload of 2,300 lbs and max towing capacity of 12,750 lbs.
